The JRSL Newsletter Selection series features selected articles related to Green Oak PCC, drawn from the “Kawaraban” section on the official Japan Risk Specialist website. While not published on a fixed schedule, these selections are released from time to time as part of an ongoing series.
The first volume is a summary of the newsletter originally issued in September 2021.
Captive – A “Self-Insurance Company” to Manage Risks and Secure Necessary Coverage
Green Oak PCC Ltd. was established in March 2020 in Labuan, Malaysia's financial special zone, and obtained a Protected Cell Captive (PCC) license from the local financial regulator in July of the same year.We support our clients through the entire process—from registering their cell to engaging in discussions on reinsurance schemes with insurers—offering full assistance for effective use of the cell.
On-site, we have experienced staff who have worked in captive management companies. They handle cell operations and liaise with local authorities, allowing clients to significantly reduce the cost and operational burden associated with setting up and running a captive.
